Hard to reach windows
As you can see from the photos, sometimes it’s an effort to just get to the window before the pro can even start the installation. Some windows just play hard to get. And this goes for day-to-day use as well as the installation.
A common scenario is the large entry window high above the front door. It’s a very stately look but you’ll have some choices. Leave it uncovered? Well, it might work if the window does not give the neighbors a view of the pajama-clad occupants on the second floor. If you decide to cover it, will it be a set-and-forget shade or will you want to operate it? For the former, you’ll need a ladder to raise and lower the shade when the glass gets funky. If you need to open and close on a more regular basis, motorization is the best way to go.
Since your walls are open, you might want to run power to it so you won’t have to drag out the ladder to change the batteries. In the old days, it was not uncommon to order a VERY long cord loop which is really a horrible idea you’ll want to avoid.
